New Omicron subvariants rampant in U.S.

The American authorities would be willing to invest a sum to develop a new Covid-19 vaccine since in addition to the Omicron BA.5 subvariant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the United States, the BA.2.86 subvariant is apparently also spreading; in the latter case it is a subvariant with many mutations that since August 17 has been under observation by international health agencies, but it is not yet known how virulent it can be. Some say that the new subvariants are so far from the first nCov pandemic virus that it is basically another virus there are many mutations that have accumulated over time, for example over thirty in the spike protein that the virus exploits to infect human cells compared to the BA.2 subvariant and generally it is unusual for this type of virus to develop so many mutations. For frail people with weakened immune systems it is advisable to protect oneself from a possible contagion.
