Astronauts with a job of several days seems to have managed to repair the Hubble Space Telescope (2.4 m diameter at 550 km away from the earth) also mounting sophisticated new instruments that should allow the observation of the universe for a time valued in about five - ten years. This telescope put into orbit in 1990 made it possible to take images from ultraviolet to the infrared outside the atmosphere with a resolution much higher than those made by observatories on the earth and takes its name from the scientist Edwin Powel Hubble (1889 - 1953) who studied the shape of galaxies, and calculated the distance as well, tried to calculate a constant of expansion of the universe by formulating the theory of the "big bang", sensing that the galaxies were all moved from the same point as in an explosion, then studied the hypothesis if the universe might be open or closed.
