Autism and prenatal examinations
A new type of test that measures the level of testosterone in the uterus is reported to highlight, in case this is particularly high, the probability of developing behavioral characteristics of autistic type in children exposed to the effects of this male hormone, but according to other studies [contested] also the presence of mercury or other toxic chemical components in some vaccines can cause autism, since it is not yet clear whether genetic abnormalities or other mechanisms are responsible for the disorder.
