Controlled radioactive water release at Fukushima
International authorities that for ten days have witnessed the operations of decommissioning of the damaged Fukushima nuclear power plant have suggested to the operators to carry out a controlled release of radioactive water into the sea, which apparently is a regular operation and perform in other nuclear facilities in the world, since the continuous input in the cooling circuit of the three reactors melted of water which is then stored in large containers makes problematic the subsequent operations of decontamination and re-entering in the circuit. To make this type of intervention must adopt appropriate safety measures to comply with the environmental rules laid down in these cases and take advantage of the lower amount of water in the cooling system to try to achieve a stabilization of the reactors that will always require a long time.
