The first Italian personal computer
An Italian designer began in 1962 to look for the components necessary to make easy to use for the public a desktop electronic computer and then equipped with a kind of a magnetic card to be inserted, in the same way of a modern device, to memorize the data stored in a metallic coils in a "magnetic writing" line which allowed rapid calculations and the ability to custom programming on the user's needs based. The program machine despite its versatility and the favor of the public not said much about the market and its patent was sold abroad for a large sum from a known industry manufacturer of typewriters, calculators and then computers. This option will not allow the subsequent development of the programs calculators technology and this branch was indeed at one point virtually abandoned and Italy went from being the native country of the desktop computer to an importer of calculators.
