One of the first scientists who do researches on the phenomenon of radioactivity, in those days just discovered, was Ernest Rutherford (Nelson 1871 - 1937 Cambridge) who managed to discover that the process was mainly caused by the enactment of radioactive particles from ionizing atoms that have this type of feature, and then each ionization process results in the transformation of the atom.
