Searching for other obsolete plants as Fukushima
After the disaster happened in Fukushima some are wondering if there are no other nuclear power plants in the world just as obsolete as the Japanese one, considering the same dangerous conditions with the possibility of potential earthquakes, tsunamis or other adverse conditions that may promote accidents that end up to cause lasting harm to the environment and to all the ecosystem. The same unit of a nuclear installation will wear pretty quickly (including concrete structures) compared to other conditions of use and old plants were not designed for easy replacement of worn or damaged parts, then it seems that to Fukushima secondary emergency devices have entered into damage to cause of the tsunami, while modern designs include automated systems with for example water tanks placed directly above the reactors.
