A group of employees in the field that develops artificial intelligence has reportedly sent an open letter denouncing how the economic motivations of A.I. companies hide what is actually being achieved and it is not believed that government regulations can be enough to change this discouraging picture. It is recalled that the issue in figurative terms of human extinction due to the prevalence of artificial intelligence; then the issues of misinformation are highlighted, the use of artificial images to influence electoral campaigns despite the existence of regulations that prohibit it. It also cites the fact that A.I. companies have "weak obligations" to share information with governments about the capabilities and limitations of their systems, adding that the letter group cannot share information voluntarily.
