Although the market demand for diagnostic kits that can detect people infected with monkeypox could be very low, at least compared to those for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, apparently there would be a kind of rush to develop new "mpox" tests made by companies specialized in this lucrative sector; then must consider that unlike what happened with the Covid-19 pandemic there are already vaccines, medicines and effective tests against smallpox useful to avoid further outbreaks in the world. Five hundred and fifty cases have been confirmed in thirty countries since May, most of them in Europe and often not linked to trips to Africa where monkeypox is endemic, without victims; but international health organizations fear that infections may increase especially during summer festivals and parties.
